Seminar on “Gender-Based Violence and Available Protection Mechanisms in Punjab.”

The Department of Sociology and Gender Studies at the University of Home Economics held a seminar on “Gender-Based Violence and Available Protection Mechanisms in Punjab.”
Prof. Dr. Zaib-un-nisa Hussain graced the event along with Ms. Muneeza Manzoor Butt, Senior Psychologist and District Women Protection Officer at the Violence Against Women Centre, Multan, was the chief guest.
A certified GBV Case Management Tier I Trainer and part of the Global Pool of Trainers, she shared powerful insights drawn from her extensive experience in law enforcement, psychology, and women’s protection across Punjab.
While addressing the students Prof. Dr. Zaib-un-nisa Hussain reaffirmed the university’s commitment to gender justice and meaningful dialogue. She also commended the department’s faculty for their dedicated efforts toward the continuous learning and empowerment of students.
The welcome note was delivered by Dr. Iram Rubab, In-Charge Department of Sociology and Gender Studies, and the seminar was moderated by Ms. Zarnish Hussain, Advisor Sociological Society for Inclusivity and Sustainability.
