First-Ever HEC Faculty Training Program Commences at UHE

Lahore (Monday, April 7, 2025): A one-month faculty training course has been launched at the University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore, in collaboration with the National Academy for Higher Education (NAHE), under the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The inaugural ceremony of the training program was attended by Prof. Dr. Zaib-un-nisa Hussain, VC UHE, Mr. Ghulam Nabi, DG HEC, Mr. Saleem Ghauri, CEO of Netsol, Mr. Muhammad Saleem Qamar, Deputy Director NAHE, HEC and Prof. Asghar Nadeem Syed.While addressing the ceremony, Prof. Zaib said the month-long training program will equip UHE faculty with modern teaching methodologies and pedagogies. She emphasized that this first-ever HEC-led training initiative will contribute significantly to the academic growth of the university.
She further added that UHE is committed to empowering its faculty with modern skills to ensure they can deliver quality teaching in classrooms, thereby securing a brighter future for the students. She announced that training courses will be conducted for all faculty members, and students will be equipped with skills aligned with the national needs of Pakistan.
Mr. Saleem Ghauri, while addressing the event, remarked that Artificial Intelligence is set to replace traditional roles in the IT industry, and universities must now focus on AI-related fields. He asserted that by educating students according to market demands, we can strengthen Pakistan’s economy and future.
Mr. Ghulam Nabi, in his address, stated that the HEC Faculty Training Program is designed to enhance the professional skills of teachers. He noted that the National Academy for Higher Education is playing a vital role in building the capacity of university faculty and nurturing their potential.
Under the National Outreach Program for Higher Education Faculty, participation in this month-long training course has been made mandatory for faculty members of UHE. Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded certificates by HEC.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Zaib-un-nisa Hussain distributed shields among the participants as a token of appreciation.
