Seminar on Autism Awareness

The Department of Psychology and the Department of Human Development organized a comprehensive and thought-provoking seminar on Autism Awareness, aimed at educating, engaging, and inspiring students to better understand and support individuals on the autism spectrum.
Prof. Dr. Zaib-un-nisa Hussain, VC UHE who praised the departments for their initiative and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive academic environment.
The distinguished panelists included Prof. Dr. Humera Bano, Director of the Institute of Special Education at Punjab University; Prof. Dr. Khalid Jameel, an internationally recognized neurologist and speaker; and Ms. Sofia Babar, an expert in inclusive education.
Each panelist brought valuable expertise and real-world insights to the conversation, highlighting the importance of early intervention, inclusive policies, and community support for individuals with autism.
Dr. Ayesha Sarfraz, Incharge department of Psychology and Dr. Ayesha Khalid also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the critical role of academic institutions in raising awareness and advocating for neurodiverse individuals. Their words encouraged students to be proactive, empathetic, and informed change-makers in their future fields.
The seminar was honored by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal, Director General of Special Education, who spoke passionately about the government’s initiatives and the need for a collaborative approach toward inclusive education.
The seminar featured a highly engaging panel discussion moderated by Irum Mehboob and Farah Sharif, both of whom skillfully facilitated a rich exchange of ideas and perspectives.
